Annell was born in Charleston, Texas on June 30, 1937, to A.P. (Pud) and Bernice (Lile) Oats.  Her Grandparents were Byron and Susie Oats and O.W. and Della (McGuyer) Lile.  They preceded her in death.

Annell attended East Delta School and graduated as Valedictorian from East Delta High School in 1955.  She attended East Texas State Teachers College and was a member of the Tooanoow Sorority.

Annell married the love of her life James (Bud) Patterson on May 11, 1956, in Hugo, Oklahoma.  They moved to Dallas to begin working and start their family.

After having 2 daughters, Janet and Julie in Dallas, they moved to Tyler in 1962 for Bud to continue a lifelong career in the floor covering business.  After 2 years in Tyler, they moved back to Dallas where they lived for twenty plus years.  They relocated to Charleston to enjoy semi-retirement.

Annell worked for Wing Industries, Inc. in Garland, Texas from 1967 to 1984.  She was the Administrative Assistant to Director of Sales and Marketing.  After moving to Charleston, she began a second career at Cooper ISD in 1993.  She worked for Cooper ISD for 17 years in several positions including Library Aide, Junior & Senior High Office Secretary, and her most loved position as the / (“pretend” nurse) in the Nurse’s office.  But her favorite job and title was…”Gee Gee.”

Annell served many years as the East Delta Community Center Secretary, a position she inherited from her mother, Bernice.  With the help of the Charleston and East Delta Community, Annell and Bud led the construction and building of the current Community Center.

Annell was a member of the Charleston Methodist Church.  She was also a member of Texas Retired Teachers.  She loved Charleston and participated in many community events.

Survivors include her husband:  James (Bud) Patterson of Charleston, Texas; Daughters:  Janet Anderson and husband Red of Campbell, Texas and Julie Kennemer of Charleston, Texas; Grandchildren:  Dustin Kennemer and wife Kirsten of Rockwall, Texas, Coyt Kennemer and wife Brooke of Fate, Texas, Jordan Brooks and husband Tony of Greenville, Texas; Great-grandchildren:  Grant Kennemer and Caroline Kennemer of Rockwall, Texas, Keelan Brooks of Greenville Texas, and Lakelyn Kennemer of Fate, Texas; Brother:  Ted Oats and wife Ellen of Rowlett; Niece:  Leslie Oats Williams of Rowlett, Texas; Nephew:  Jeff Oats and wife Dana, of Rowlett, Texas; Many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
