Benny Roger Snow Obituary

Benny Roger Snow 85, of Cooper, Texas passed away Thursday October 17, 2024 from a long gallant battle with Cancer. 


Memorial services are scheduled for November 10th at 2:00 pm, at Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnny Witherspoon officiating.  Come share a story or a memory.


Ben was born in Hawkins, Texas, on September 27, 1939, to Thomas and Mildred (Odom) Snow.  He was raised in Soper, Texas by Mildred and his stepfather John Edge.  They preceded him in death along with his sister Betty Brown, brothers Desmond Snow and Tommy Snow and a son, Robert Slavik.


Ben graduated from Oklahoma High School in 1953.  Ben joined the U.S. Army in 1958 until 1961.  He was a Sharpshooter Expert and a Bantamweight Golden Gloves boxer for the Army.


Ben married Pam Wynn on April 30,1983 in Garland, Texas.   


Ben started his law enforcement career in 1975, first as a Finger Print Expert in the Identification Division of the Dallas Police Dept, and was appointed as a Deputy Marshall – Warrant Division for the Dallas City Marshall’s Office in 1977 until his retirement in 1997 and earned many commendations.  He was employed with Texas Instruments in the security division.  He and his wife Pam retired and built a home in Cooper, Texas when he was elected as Delta County Constable in 2008 and served for 2 terms. 


Ben loved his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was proud and honored to serve as Constable for his community.   Ben was a big lover of animals and took in many strays over the years.  He leaves behind his beloved dogs J.D. and Joey, and a cat Misty. 


Ben also leaves behind many good friends, neighbors, and business associates that he cared about deeply. He will be greatly missed.


Survivors include his wife Pam Snow of Cooper, Texas, daughters: Sherri Snow of Orange, Florida, and Rebecca Motley of Fort Worth, Texas, sister: Marion Elwell (Wayne), and brother: John Edge. Sister-in-law Gabby Snow and Betty Kosters (Mark), daughter-in-law Lisa Slavik, five grandchildren: Collin Cone, Ali Batir (Joe), Haley Robinson (Neil), Luke Gatewood, and Alannah Delgado (JD), nieces, Shannon Dunklin, Angelique Fletcher (Chad), and Natalie Snow, four great-grandchildren, Julian, Madeleine, Jake, and Peter.  Ben has many cousins, Tommy Bohannon, Mary Odum, and Shirley Taylor to name a few. 


Ben Snow, a friend to many; stranger to none.
