Bonnie Lou Johnston

Bonnie Lou Toon Johnston, age 84, of Enloe, TX passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 in Paris, TX.

Bonnie was born on September 18, 1936 to Sherwood and Lucille “Fletcher” Toon in Enloe, TX.  She graduated from Enloe High School.  Bonnie married Bobby Kent “BK” Johnston on December 24, 1954.  Bonnie and BK raised three daughters.  Bonnie was employed as a Real Estate salesperson and Broker for many years and worked in the Security Office at NASA prior to moving back to Delta County in 1988. 

Bonnie was a lifelong member of Enloe Methodist Church. She was a member of Enloe Hobby Club, Jr Afflatus and Delta County Garden Club.  She was an avid painter.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband and later with her daughters. 

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Sherwood and Lucille “Fletcher” Toon, her husband of 53 years, BK, and her daughter Jennifer Johnston Akridge.

Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Kathie and husband Jerry Hendley of Enloe, TX; Leigh Anna and husband Ghislain Aubin of Cumming, GA; son in law, Donald Akridge of Tajique, NM; sister, Sandra and husband Johnny Watkins of Cooper, TX.  Grandchildren, Amanda and husband Jeremy Sullivan of San Antonio, TX; Adam Nowalk of Cumming, GA; Cody Hendley of San Antonio, TX; Daniel Hendley of San Antonio, TX;  Donald Akridge and wife Miranda of Roswell, NM; Ronald Jason Akridge of Texarkana, TX; Aaron Akridge and wife Sheena of New Braunfels, TX;  Zachary Osborne and wife Ashley of Cuming, GA; CJ Osborne and wife Jessica of Cumming, GA; Justin Akridge of Colorado; Matthew Akridge and wife Heather of Estancia, NM; Shana Aubin-Guertin of Le Moyne, Quebec.

She is also survived by the following, Great Grand Children; Abbi and Julia Hendley;  Emma Hendley, Molly and Patrick Sullivan; Avrie and Axel Nowalk; Trystan and Bonnie Osborne; Benton Osborne; Zach and Chase Akridge; Madison and Aiden Akridge; Bailey and Paisley Jennifer Akridge; Angela, Tristan, Ian and Samantha Akridge. Also, a host of nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Delta Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation at 1:00 pm to be followed by service at 2:00 pm, with burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Stacey Smith  to officiate. Serving as pallbears will be her grandsons.
