Charles William “Sonny” George, 85, of Pickton, Texas passed away Thursday May 16, 2024.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday May 19, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Cooper, Texas, with Bryce Jester and Clinton Gillean officiating, Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends and family from 6-8 p.m. Saturday May 18, 2024, at Delta Funeral Home.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Jamie Allen, Bruce Henry, Nathan Jordan, Blake Jordan, Billy Wayne Thompson, Tommy Vanhoose, Michael George, Chris Morris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lanny Ashwood, Terry Bryan, and Ted Alley.

Sonny was born in Cooper, Texas, May 2,1939 to James Eunice and Willie Carmen ‘Glaspie’ George. They preceded him in death as well as four brothers and one sister. Sonny married the love of his life Loula Jean Thompson on January 11, 1957, she preceded him in death April 23, 2001.

Sonny was a lifelong cattleman, retired from Kroger warehouse of 44 years as a forklift driver in Irving, Texas.

Survivors include daughters: Rhonda Jordan and husband Jeff of Pickton, Texas, Sheryl Morris and husband Rodney of Cooper, Texas, four grandchildren: Nathan Jordan and wife Candance, Blake Jordan and wife Chelsea, Chris Morris, Maci Morris, seven great – grandchildren Becca, Casey, Chris, Gage, Sloan, Jaxon, Melena, and a sister Barbara Walls Nichols of Farmersville, Texas. and Special friend June Thompson of Twenty-two years,
