E.B. Shirley, 89, of Cooper, Texas, passed away Friday August 13, 2021.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 11a.m. Saturday August 21, 2021 at the Garden of Memories cemetery in Ben Franklin, Texas. Family will receive friends and family from 6-8 p.m. Friday , August 20, 2021, at Delta Funeral Home, www.deltafuneralhome.com.

E.B. was born in Ben Franklin, Texas, October 30, 1931 to parents Oscar P. and Mary Emma  Shirley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Virginia Addison and Bruce Shirley.

E.B. married his sweetheart Betty Jane Toon on July 4, 1957, in Cooper, Texas.

E.B. served in the United States Navy following the patriotic service of his father and grandfather. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in many callings.  E.B. received both his Bachelors and Masters degree from East Texas State University, now Texas A & M University – Commerce and worked throughout his career for the United States Postal Service.   

Survivors include his wife Betty Shirley of Cooper, Texas, two sons Mark (Valerie) Shirley of Texarkana, Texas,  David (Michaela) Shirley of Rowlett, Texas, one daughter Susan (Randy) Garrison of Campbell, Texas, 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.  E. B. was a father and friend to his children who were the focus of his existence, save our Savior, Jesus Christ.  His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren relished his love and involvement.  They appreciated his unconditional love in their lives and believe that since families are forever, know that his adoring heartfelt attention will always be close.
