Earnest Eugene Rittenberry Obituary

Earnest Eugene "Gene" Rittenberry, 87, of Ladonia, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Commerce.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 9, 2013 in the Friendship Baptist Church in Ladonia. Revs. Ron Hickey and Curtis French will be officiating. Interment will follow with military honors in the Ladonia Cemetery under the direction of the Delta Funeral Home in Cooper.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Rittenberry was born in Ladonia on December 7, 1925, the son of LaFate Rittenberry and Besse Mae Wisely Rittenberry. He married Betty Scarborough on February 14, 1947. He and his wife had owned and operated a home decorating and drapery business before retiring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.He was preceded in death by his parents, a son David Eugene Rittenberry in 1986, and a grandson Thomas Eugene Holman, Jr. in 2005.
Survivors include his wife Betty Rittenberry of Ladonia, two daughters, Donna Manning and Barbara Lock both of Ladonia, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
