Edwin Hugh Evans, age 66 passed away on September 29, 2025. Edwin was born June 29, 1959 in Commerce Texas to William R Evans Jr. and Melba Faye Evans. 

Ed resided in Mesquite, Texas and graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1978. Ed was very passionate about helping young kids and was a coach and umpire for multiple youth sports for a number of years before having an accident while working for the U.S. Postal Office in Rockwall Texas that left him permanently disabled. Even while living in pain daily he never missed an opportunity to try and make a difference in the life of any youth he came in contact with. 

Ed was a devout believer in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. 

He is survived by brothers Billy Evans, Alan Evans and wife Carla, sister Sherry Thomas and husband Robert and many nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents William R. Evans and mother Melba Faye Evans.

Graveside services are scheduled for Sunday October 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Pecan Gap Cemetery.  Pastor T.J. Willingham will officiate.
