Foy Moss Obituary

On Thursday, May 14, 2020 Foy Edsel Moss, known affectionately as “Buddy”, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 74. Foy was born on March 4th, 1946 in Dallas, Texas to Foy E. and Mary Lela (Foster) Moss. He grew up in Dallas attending Bryan Adams High School.  He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 1970, majoring in Marketing.  On May 16th, 1970 he married Diane Howell. They raised two daughters, Jennifer and Mackenzie.

He was a faithful member of South MacArthur Church of Christ, now Christ Church in Irving, for 33 years. He was a devoted father who loved coaching his daughters’ soccer teams and leading their Indian Princess tribe when they were young. Fishing, tracing his ancestry, and videography were hobbies he enjoyed. Foy was a dedicated son managing the family apartment complexes in Dallas and the family farm near Cooper. He lovingly cared for his aging parents until their deaths. He appreciated a good prank and loved to laugh. He was a loyal Red Raider who passionately watched all Texas Tech sporting events. Guns up!  He took pride in being the reunion chair for the Bryan Adams class of 1964 and keeping all his classmates connected. After retiring from a career in sales, he treasured time with his family, relatives and friends. He fought a valiant fight battling PSP for 10 years always keeping positive.

He is preceded in death by his father, Foy, and his mother, Mary.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Diane (2 days shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary); his oldest daughter, Jennifer Herring, her husband, Will, and their two boys, Kaden and Landry; his youngest daughter, Mackenzie Parks and her husband, Greg, and their two daughters, Courtney and Carly; his older sister, Lela Ellen Moss Smith and her husband, Fred, of St. Charles, Illinois; and their son, Derran, his wife Anne, and their children, Kaitlin, Maggie, and Brody.
