Gertrude Iona Comte

September 5, 1930 ~ September 17, 2020 (age 90)



Gertrude Iona Comte, 90, passed away, Thursday, September 17, 2020 at her home in McKinney, Texas, surrounded by family and friends, daughter, Kathy, son-in-law, John, granddaughter, Stephanie and Justin and a great granddaughter, Jenna. 

Trudy (Gertrude) was born in the town of Clarksburg, West Virginia to James Albert and Amelia Ellen Lawson, September 5, 1930.

She loved gardening, taking care of her roses, playing set back and gin rummy with family and was a proud member of the ladies’ auxiliary of the American Legion Post 147 in Clovis, Ca.

Trudy was one of seven sisters and one brother and was preceded in death by her husband, US Army Major General, A.J. Comte, her parents and siblings, Brother, Floyd and sisters, Cora, Lilly, Mary and Gladys.

She is survived by: Two sisters: Laura Nott of Winter Springs, Florida and Emma Stackpole of Salem, Virginia along with her children,

Daughters: Karen Palazzola of South Lyon, MI., Kathy Kisic & John of Cooper

Sons. Gordon Gray & Lisa of Clovis, California,

Allen Comte & Terri of San Marcos, Ca.

Grandchildren: James Comte, Amy Comte, Sharon Goins & Bob, Kevin Ray Price and Stacy, Kevin Allen Harbert and Danni Amaya, Stephanie Harbert, Michael Gray and Samantha, Lindsay Gray, and Doreen Harbert

Great-Grandchildren: Trent Harbert, Brendon Goins, Ian Goins, Ketarie Comte, Tyler Harbert, Collin Goins, Amelia Price, Caden Price, Jenna Harbert,

Ella Price, Jordon Gray, Michael Gray, Isabel Gray, Natalie Gray and Kylie Kisic. Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

We would like to send our heart felts gratitude to the staff at Heart to Heart Hospice (Mary Pereyra) who has become part of our family and Ty and Ike from No Place Like Home.

Funeral Services will be Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Delta Funeral Home Chapel with George Martinez officiating and interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery with Kevin Harbert, Tyler Harbert, Wesley Salters, Daniel Perez, Chelsea Kisic and Trent Harbert serving as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
