Howard "Wes" Wesley Clark Obituary
Howard “Wes” Wesley Clark, born June 27, 1944, passed away on January 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Throughout his 81 years, Wes lived a life marked by quiet strength, generosity, and a steadfast devotion to those he loved.
He was the son of Sam Houston Clark and Emma Viola Moncrief. He was preceded in death by his siblings Charles Clark, Carolyn Bell, and Gene Clark, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Wes is survived by his sons, Kent Clark and Casey Clark, who will forever carry forward his example of integrity, humor, and resilience. Kent and his wife, Kim, along with their daughters, Karli and Kendall, were a constant source of pride and joy for him. Casey and his wife, Lexi, and their sons, Tobias and Nolan, brought him deep happiness and countless cherished moments. Also, survived by his lifelong love of 37 years, Pamela Collard and her children Stephanie Nickerson and husband Joe, Christopher Collard, Brittany Stansbury and husband Russell and their families who he cherished and adored, with so many loving moments and stories that he couldn’t wait to share. Wes loved all the ones he thought of as family.
Over the course of his life, Wes held a variety of careers that reflected his adaptability, strong work ethic, and willingness to serve. He spent meaningful time providing civilian support to U.S. troops during the Iraq conflicts, work he carried out with deep respect for the men and women in uniform. He also held several roles within companies owned by the Miller family, where he was valued for his reliability, dedication, and steady presence. In his later years, Wes found a second home at Cooper Propane, where his so‑called “retirement job” became anything but. He quickly became a fixture to both customers and employees — the familiar face people looked forward to seeing, always ready with a story, a laugh, or a helping hand.
Outside of work, Wes found joy in the simple, steady pleasures that made life meaningful to him. He loved old cars and could talk about them for hours with anyone who shared the interest. He took pride in being outdoors, tending to his yard with the same care and patience he brought to everything else in his life. Most of all, he loved people — hearing their stories, sharing his own, and brightening their day. He had a natural gift for making others smile, often without even trying.
A memorial service to honor Wes’s life will be held at 1:00pm on January 27, 2026, at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel in Cooper, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to American Heart Association.
