Jack Waller Stewart

Jack Waller Stewart, 84, of Klondike, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Collom officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to services at Delta Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Stewart, Shane LaRue, Johnie Jackson, Daniel LaRue, Landon Stewart and Brandon Stewart.

Jack was born in Commerce, Texas on February 27, 1936 to William Henry and Mary “Dees” Stewart. They have preceded him in death as well as seven sisters. Jack was a humble man raised in humble beginnings. When Jack’s father passed away, he was sixteen. He dropped out of high school to support his mother and younger brother, Sidney. Jack married Anita Whirley on December 4, 1954 in Oklahoma. He worked hard all of his life, mostly in the grocery business in Commerce at Phillips Grocery. While there he was awarded “Man of the year.” His later career was auto parts, where he owned his own store “Stewarts Parts Plus.” He retired at age 80. Jack was a Christian man. Member of the Church of Christ in Commerce. He lived a Christian life.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Whirley Stewart; daughter, Angela Stewart Jackson; son, Clinton Dane Stewart and wife, Brenda; daughter, Dana Stewart Stone and husband, Steve; daughter, Tammy Stewart Brent and husband, Tracey; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brother, Sidney Stewart and sister, Anita Adams as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
