James Wesley "Wes" Scott

James Wesley” Wes” Scott, 70, of Cooper, Texas passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jake Vaughn and Dan Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 – 7:30 pm Monday, June 5, 2023, at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Sam Bettes, Cody Bettes, Cade Alley, Michael Williams, Clifford Morris, and Cody Scott. Honorary Pallbearers are Avos Stancil and Ted Alley.

He was born July 28,1952 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Weldon L. and Helen Ruth Beckham Scott, they have preceded him in death as well as a brother, Jon David Scott. He married Dana L. Dunn on August 1, 1981, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He was a Highway Contractor and owner of Wes Scott, Inc. since 1982. He was a member of East Delta Baptist Church, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and served his country in the Texas Army National Guard from 1971-1977.

He is survived by his wife, Dana Scott of Cooper, Texas; son, Wesley D. Scott and wife, Amanda, of Charleston, Texas; daughter, Katlyn C. Scott of Longview, Texas; Grandchildren: Emily Scott, Lilly Scott, Cody Scott, and Avery Scott. He is also survived by his cherished sister in laws, brother in laws and cousins.
