Juliette "June" (McAlister) Miller Obituary

Juliette “June” McAlister Miller made it to her Heavenly Father on Thursday January 16, 2025.

June was born April 11, 1933, to Lloyd and Thelma (Wright) McAlister. She spent her childhood days at her family’s home in Garland, TX, but she loved spending the summers and holidays with her grandparents in Pecan Gap. She was 11 years old when Jesus became her Savior, and her faith was unshakeable for the rest of her life.

June married the love of her life Lowell “Bill” William Miller on May 16, 1962, in Phoenix, Arizona. Their favorite hobby to do together was to go camping with family across America.

Her love for her family was strong and unending. She considered being chosen by God to be a mother a wonderful privilege. Her greatest desire was to be an example of Jesus, so that her loved ones and others that crossed her path would know the importance of loving and serving Jesus with all your heart. She taught Sunday School and led Small Groups with her husband Bill for many years, and she was an active member of Lakeshore Church in Rockwall, TX.

June was a devoted prayer warrior. Her goal was to make Heaven crowded. She would ask everyone she encountered if they knew Jesus and if she could pray for them. God gifted her a spirit of discernment to know exactly what you needed prayer for, and you would always walk away in tears knowing that you got a small glimpse of Jesus’s love through her.

Her lasting advice was that you must never face the day until you have faced God. She believed that you should regularly spend those important moments of your morning alone in God’s Word. She would often say, “Those who have accomplished the most for God in this world are those who have been found on their knees early in the morning.”

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, parents Lloyd and Thelma, stepmom Edna Earle Whittenburg, and stepbrother Mack McAlister.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Judy Knight and husband Gordon, son James Parks and wife RuthAnn, and daughter Tami Green and husband Jack. Also, her grandchildren Heather Gray, Keenan Knight and wife Meighan, Jamie Parks, Jenny Heinen and husband Cray, and Megan Shipp and husband Matt, and her 10 great grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11a.m. Saturday February 1, 2025, at Delta Funeral Home Chapel.

Pastor Brad Howard and Jack Green will officiate.
