Rita Nell Ray 80 of Commerce, has gone home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2025.
Memorial services will be held to celebrate her life at a later date.
Rita was born February 23, 1944, in Dallas, Texas to James Cyrus and Myrtle Adell “Richards” Bellah.
Rita was a vibrant spirit that enjoyed life and was always the bright spot of any room she was in. She lived life to the fullest touching many lives. Her greatest joy was always her family. She also had many dear friends that she greatly treasured.
She was an active member in her high school years she was a member of many clubs and organizations. She was a basketball player and a cheerleader; cheering on her beloved Campbell Indians. She graduated in 1962.
Later in life she served as mayor of her community and took on many activities for her children’s schools.
She is survived by daughter Amanda Schmock, son Chris Ray and his wife Lisa Ray all of Commerce. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren Jacey Schmock , Jarrett Schmock, Hannah Schmock, Haley Schmock, Hunter Ray, Maysa Ray, Morgan Ray and 2 great grandchildren Amelia Webb and Lorelei Ray. She is also survived by two brothers, Larry Bellah and Leon Bellah and a sister, Eula Beth Green and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend Winona Hendren. She was proceed in death by Her father and mother, a sister Linda Hogge, and her son in law Craig Schmock .
She will be greatly missed by all that love her. It is with a full heart that we ask that you all take a moment to reflect on all your happy and special memories of her.
