Roger Houchins

Roger Houchins, 68, of Cooper, Texas passed away Friday, January 27, 2023.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Lyn Dennis and Kaleb Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories cemetery, Ben Franklin, Texas.

Visitation will be from 1:30 – 2:00 pm prior to the services.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Landen Houchins, Ryan Houchins, Gavin Houchins, Allen Houchins, Wendell Houchins, Rick Smith, and Lee Easthom.

Roger was born in Honey Grove, Texas on May 5, 1954, to Wendell and Lorene Houchins. They precede him in death as well as brothers, Dean Houchins, Weldon Houchins and Leo Houchins. On March 1, 1974, Roger married Kathy Thomas.  He retired from Babcock & Wilcox – Paris, then retired from Texas A & M Commerce as Grounds Supervisor. His past time was his Kubota tractor, planting his garden, landscaping, playing 42 and playing volleyball.

Roger is survived by his wife Kathy; sons, Wendell Houchins and Dee, and Allen Houchins. 5 grandchildren:  Landen, Ryan, Gavin, Hope and Harlie Kay Houchins; Aunts: Frances Owens and Joyce Flanery; half-brother, Jimmy Lair; sister-in-laws, Donna, Sharon and Francis Houchins.
