Ruby Evelyn (Beard) Bridges

Ruby Evelyn Bridges, 95, of Cooper Texas, passed away Thursday August 4,2022.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday August 6,2022, at Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Johnny Witherspoon, Jason Holcomb and Lance Crump to officiate, with interment to follow at Oaklawn cemetery. Family will receive friends and family one hour prior to service, at Delta Funeral Home Chapel.

Serving as Pallbearers will be John Maddox, Chad Calvin, Chase Chadwick, Brent Chadwick, Lance Crump, Jeremy Wheat.

Ruby Evelyn was born September 8, 1926, to Frances and Bennie Beard in Bairdstown, Texas. They preceded her in death as well as her husband Edgar Bridges, five siblings, a daughter, and a grandson.

She was the second oldest of seven children. She married Lawrence Edgar Bridges on December 12, 1945, they had two girls, Bennie Sue Toon who is deceased and Linda Lou Chadwick of Cooper, Texas. After she raised her girls, she went to nursing school and graduated top of her class at the age of 50 years. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital and Wintermute Hospital and later worked at Delta Nursing Home and Birchwood Manor. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Cooper Texas and a member of the Dorcus Sunday school class and loved all its members.

Survivors include, a daughter Linda Chadwick and husband Randy of Cooper, Texas, Seven grandchildren: Dawn Moody and husband David of Enloe, Texas, Candi Crump and husband Lance of Campbell, Texas, John Maddox and wife Jamie of Bullard, Texas, Chad Calvin and wife Nikki of Cooper, Texas, Chase Chadwick and wife Whitney of Cooper, Texas, Brent Chadwick and wife Wendy of Mineola, Texas, Angie Wheat and husband Jeremy of Flint, Texas. She has eighteen great grandchildren, and sixteen great great grandchildren. A sister, Betty Holcomb, of Cooper, Texas, and lots of nieces and nephews who she deeply loved.

She loved her family with her whole heart. She made many sacrifices to do for her family and friends and always put others above herself.
