Mrs. Ruby Jo Smith passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at her home in Cooper. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 30 at the New Klondike Cemetery. Dr. Calvin Turnage of Cooper will officiate.
Mrs. Smith was born on July 1, 1939 in Cooper. She was the daughter of Ollie Thomas Phipps and Pansy Nell Wickersham Phipps. She married Larry E. Smith in 1967. She had been a school cafeteria worker and had lived in Cooper since 1996.
She is survived by her husband Larry E. Smith of Cooper, two sons Robert Newman of Cooper and Timmy Smith of Titusville, Florida, daughters; Mitzi Saui of Mims, Florida and Cindy Newman of Achille, Oklahoma, two brothers, Thomas Phipps of Durant, Oklahoma and Bobby Phipps of Cooper, a sister Sharon Phipps of Tennessee Colony, Texas, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 30 from 12:00 to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
