Ruth Ellen (George) Horton

Ruth Ellen “George” Horton 79 of Cooper passed away Friday April 1, 2022.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Tuesday April 5, 2022 at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Rick Richardson  officiating.  Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ben Franklin.

Family will receive friends Monday April 4, 2022 from 6-8 pm at Delta Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbears will be Bobby George, Jimmy George, Anthony Roberts, Lon Saunders, Richard Horton and Michael Salazar.  Honorary pallbears are all nurses Ruth had worked with.

Ruth was born January 25, 1943 in Celeste, Texas to Thomas Owen George and Mertha Adamson George.  They have preceded her in death as well as a son Calvin Ray Horton Jr. 4 brothers, Thomas Ray George, Jerry Don George, Jimmy Alfred George and Earl George, 6 sisters, Goldie Fay Teel, Pearl Booth, Gladys Watson, Geneva Beckham, Gracie Kelley and Gertie McKinney.

Survivors include a daughter Kimberly Renee Salazar and husband Javier of Cooper, TX,   7 grandchildren 8 great grandchildren daughter in law Lucia Horton, special niece, Debbie Burks  and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth has been a licensed nurse since 1974.
