Shawna Renee (Long) Spangler Obituary
Shawna Renee “Long” Spangler 53, of Ben Franklin, Texas tragically passed away Tuesday April 15, 2025.
Shawna was born in Grapevine, Texas June 26, 1971, to Jimmy and Barbara (Buice) Long. Shawna’s daughter, Ashtyn Brooke, preceded her in death, as well as her grandparents Nellie Thompson, Charles E. and Lorette McDaniel, and Aunt Shirley Plummer. Shawna was a beautician and created so much more than stunning looks; she built trust, forming bonds with everyone who sat in her chair. Whether it was a bride preparing for her most memorable day, someone stepping into a new chapter of life, or simply a client in need of a little self-care, she met them all with kindness, encouragement, and an unwavering belief that they deserve to shine. She was a member of Three Rusty Nails Church and as the Music Minister, did more than lead songs, she created an atmosphere where hearts are lifted, souls are stirred, and worship became a profound, shared experience. Music has the power to bring people together, to remind them of grace, and to carry them through moments of joy and struggle alike and Shawna relished her role.
Shawna radiated warmth, kindness, and unwavering love—her presence brought comfort and strength to those around her. A loving mother and devoted wife, she embodied selflessness, always putting her family’s needs above her own. Her faith was the anchor that steadied her through life’s storms. She nurtured not only with her hands but with her heart, creating a home that felt safe and welcoming to those who entered. Her legacy is written in the hearts she touched, in the love she poured into every moment, in the faith that guided her steps. A genuine, faith-filled human being, Shawna was a testament to the quiet power of love, the strength of devotion, and the beauty of a soul that believes.
