Mr. Toney Steward of Cooper passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Maynard will officiate with interment following in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper.
Mr. Steward was born March 20, 1918 in Maytoy, Oklahoma. He was the son of King Fisher Steward and Lara Ann Vandever Steward. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He married Johnnie Earl Walker in 1946 and she preceded him in death January 4, 2012.
Survivors are his daughter, Glynana Herin and husband Darrell of Lake Creek, Brothers Kenneth Steward of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Billy Van Steward of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,two grandchildren Lea Waller and husband Scotty and Lance Stockton. He was survived by great grandchildren Cody and Cade Stockton and Savana and Tate Waller.
He was preceded in death by sisters Bertha Smith and Mildred Waters and by brothers Clyde Ray Steward, King Steward, and Roy B. Steward.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, August 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
