William Robinson Obituary

William Robinson, 74, of Bonham, Texas formerly of Cooper, Texas passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2026, with Brother Jerry Clements officiating at Oaklawn Cemetery with honors by the Military Coalition.

William was born on May 27, 1951, in Modesto, California to James “Jim” and Minnie Nix Robinson and moving to Texas in 1954. William grew up working in the Cotton Fields of Delta County. He attended for two years at Enloe School then moved to Cooper ISD when the Enloe School closed. He became a Plumber by trade and probably has fixed about every house in Cooper. William was the kind of man who never met a stranger, he had a willingness to help anyone in need and often taking no pay, he would say oh it’s not that big of a deal. In later years you would find him mowing someone’s yard or repairing their lawnmowers. He worked at Henslee Hardware for several years. He loved watching westerns on TV with his fur babies.

William was a US Army Veteran from the Vietnam War.

He and his wife, Jennie, were together for 51 years, until her passing on December 17, 2024. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Cecil, David and Danny, sisters, Mary Ann and Linda Kay.

He is survived by his son, Jason Robinson and wife, Ashley; daughter, Sheila Rutherford and husband, Wesley; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jimmy, Roger and Ronald; sisters, Carol, Sherry and Janet, several nephews and nieces and lots of friends.
