Mrs. Wilma Evelyn Templeton Goolsby, 95 years of age of Dallas passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 in Dallas.
Funeral services for Mrs. Goolsby will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 9 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bart Smith and Rev. Steve Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper.
Mrs. Goolsby was born December 6, 1917 in Charleston, Texas to Amos Wynn Templeton and Salina Lucinda McGuyer Templeton. She married Mr. Grady D. Goolsby on January 16, 1937 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death October 11, 1999. She was a graduate of Cooper High School and East Texas State University where she received her teachers certificate. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Cooper and taught Sunday School there. She was a member of the Barron Fellowship Class and worked with the youth. She had lived in Dallas the past thirteen years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Gobel Templeton and Wayne Templeton, her three sisters; Lola Westbrook, Beauton Riley, and Olpha Aldridge.
She was survived by three sons; Joe Ed and Juaneille Goolsby of Sherman, Charles Wynn Goolsby and Alice Mayo of Wylie, Richard Grady and Shirley Goolsby of Richland Hills, seven grandchildren; Joe Michael and Kelli Goolsby of Sherman, John Charles Goolsby of Sherman, Mary Elizabeth and Russell Yeatts of Flower Mound, Tim and Adriana Dollar and Kimberly Ann and Curtis Lovelady of Batavia, Illinois, Richard Kyle and Julie Goolsby of Richland Hills, Katie Lee and Fred Kemp of Richland Hills,ten great grandchildren, Regan Taylor and Lauren Nicole Goolsby of Sherman, Morgan Emily and Mason Aubrey Yeatts of Flower Mound, Luis Pablo and Veronica Dollar of Bedford, Brooke and Brandon Charles Belair of Batavia, Illinois, Faith Hanna Goolsby of Richland Hills, and Grey David Kemp of Richland Hills and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10 to 11:30 at the First United Methodist Church in Cooper.
Thanks to C.C. Young for the wonderful care the past 13 years and to Seasons Hospice for the special care provided to Wilma and to the family.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Cooper or the C.C. Young Retirement Center of Dallas.
